Another beautiful bug that was kind enough to pose for me. This guy was in Kyoto on a table outside of the local Star Bucks. (no, I don't frequent or endorse Star Bucks, but in Japan, they actually have one good drink worth going in for...) Anyway...he was cute, so I shot him.

I have one of these in my galery too. In Japanese it's called a Kanabun. I had to do a lot of post processing work on mine to get the colors right.

Beautiful shot of a beautiful bug!

Kanabun ne? Sugoi! Thanks a lot, I've always been curious as to what it is. My Japanese bug vocabulary is limited to mushi, gokiburi, and ka. However, I now know kanabun. Thank you very much!

I'm glad you like the shot. I thought about pushing the colors a bit in post processing but it wasn't really necessary this time around. It worked great on its own.

weeell, i wouldnt keesh heem anywho. :(
i want to. but i wouldnt.
just because of the little barbs on the leggies, and hooks on teh feetsies. :(
those kindsa buggies latch on, and if i keeshed heem-
he'd prolly grab onto my lip. and that would be gross. :(
and not to mention, i dun wanna hurt heem accidently by having to pull him offa meh. :(

but as for the peekture, i think its a really sweet capture :cuddle:
i like how hes so vibrant with that dull background. and hes just beautiful :heart:
this shot really gives him a lot of personality, and i think you did an amazing job with this :nod:
